MATT POKORNY, DPT, OCS, ATC
Dr. Matt Pokorny has over 15 years of experience in the field of sports medicine. He began his training as a kinesiology and athletic training major at Penn State University and went on to pursue his Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. The majority of Matt's career has focused on outpatient manual physical therapy. He spent several years practicing physical therapy in Vail, where he worked closely with the physicians of the Steadman Clinic. In this unique setting that specializes in rehabilitation of sports-related injury and post-operative care, Matt sharpened his skills in manual therapy, sport-specific rehab and orthopaedic care.
In 2007, family took Matt to the New Orleans area where he specialized in treatment of spinal injuries and gained a wealth of experience working in a medically-based chiropractic office. After five years, the mountains called the Pokornys back to Colorado and Matt was excited to open GTO Physical Therapy in Golden.
Matt is a Certified Athletic Trainer and has been board certified in orthopedics since 2006 by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. He is certified in Functional Dry Needling, is a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist, and is trained in the Graston Technique.
